We began to design the Becton Dickinson factory in 2008, and the first phase was completed in 2010. The facility produces medical syringes made of semi-finished glass and plastic. The plant is continuously being developed by the Hungarian subsidiary of Becton Dickinson, and in recent years the building has been expanded in multiple phases. In 2014, the company decided to build a unit at their premises in Környe, which belongs to a business branch other than syringe manufacturing. This building became the Biosciences Laboratory, which employs 201 employees.

The new laboratory building was designed as an extension of the existing building, so it can be accessed from the old office building via an existing staff corridor. The lab is a unit that operates independently of the syringe manufacturing business, so it had to be designed to have its own reception. The building section is divided into two functional units of different character: the laboratory area and the office area. The existing corridor had to be extended with a new section of about 20 meters in length to reach the two-story lobby of the new building part. The reception is located in the lobby, and you can reach the various functional units of the building from here. The two floors are connected by a staircase and a passenger lift. The two floors of the office building wing can be reached moving east from the lobby. The office wing also has single-room and cell offices for administrative workers. On the south side of the wing are the sanitary blocks, meeting rooms, server rooms, file storage and other service rooms, as well as a training hall. The laboratory wing can be reached from the entrance hall in a westerly direction. In the laboratories, raw material for clinical (laboratory) tests is prepared for custom orders. Simultaneous work is only performed in small areas. Next to the outdoor loading dock, there is a warehouse for storing raw materials and finished products, as well as outdoor waste containers, a biowaste container and a transformer room with the adjacent electrical rooms. The ground-floor rooms are arranged along a corridor, which mostly runs in an east-west direction. The corridor serves the dining room, the labs, the animal housings and some administrative offices connected to the labs.

Most of the first floor is taken up by the single-space laboratory. The rooms on the first floor are accessible from an L-shaped corridor running along the east and north sides of the building wing. Here are the administrative workstations next to the lab: offices and smaller meeting rooms. The offices are partly cellular and partly single-space. The second floor has a smaller floor space than the lower two floors. Here are the boilers, air technology equipment and cooling machines which serve the building. Next to the technical room are the operating offices and the adjacent small sanitary block and changing room, as well as the boiler room, which hosts two 500kW boilers with chimneys.
