The pipe bridge connecting the two plants of the Richter Gedeon Chemical Works on Gyömrői út, and the gates next to the bridgehead used to welcome visitors in an unworthy manner. There was a lack of harmony between the composition of the three main units. The entrance to the two connected sites was architecturally unremarkable and did not place any tone in its surroundings, as could be expected from an entrance element. There were several overhead cables between the bridge and the adjacent buildings, and their accidental positioning further worsened the overall picture. Over the past few years and decades, the structures of the gate buildings had apparently depreciated, so in 2015, the client launched a restricted design contest for the design of the gate building rehabilitation, which we won.

The existing building on the Gyömrői út side was extended by a new lobby, which allows arrivals in the adjacent building to be checked. The lobby was designed so that the corner of the building is opened-up as much as possible, which allows the reception service to properly monitor the area before the entrance. Due to the characteristics of the gate building, we did not construct a vestibule at the entrance on Gyömrői út in order not to restrict the lobby size and obstruct passenger movement. The turnstiles were placed at a distance from the street entrance, so there is a sufficient space to accommodate the arrivals. The new information board and multimedia wall were placed on the opposite side of the reception desk. We also built a bench here to serve visitors.
